Throughout this week, you have experienced many 2.0 tools that can truly impact student learning. Even though it may seem overwhelming at times, we hope that you were able to take nuggets away and incorporate next year.
To conclude our week, we have two areas for you to explore and a short video for you to reflect. As you begin this journey, please know that we are available to help you. Check back with the blog or the delicious account for valuable resources and don’t forget about Atomic Learning.
Ethical Use of Information
Web 2.0 allows students to creatively publish – but don’t forget they must cite anything they did not create. There are many resources available to make this a seamless process for all ages.
Son of Citation Machine
Blue Valley West Citation Maker
Kid Bib Toolkit
Internet Safety
Students are very comfortable with computers – almost too comfortable. As you assign projects online, please make sure to help your students adhere to some Internet safety tips. We would hope students would transfer this skills to their personal use as well.
1. Do not use your full name.
2. Do not give out personal information including home address, phone/cell number, or your family information.
3. Contact an adult if someone is inappropriate or makes you feel comfortable.
4. Do not respond to any messages that are mean or in any way make you feel scared, uncomfortable,or confused.
5. Do not meet with anyone you met online without checking with my parents.
